Kathmandu . Nepal Council of Arbitration (NEPCA) and Indian Council of Arbitration (ICA) formally signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 7th May 2026 at NEPCA Secretariat. This strategic partnership marks a major leap forward for the regional landscape, designed to strengthen cross-border cooperation and enhance the efficiency of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) between two nations.
The MOU signing ceremony highlighted the deep institutional synergy between India and Nepal, with visionary remarks from Mr. Arun Chawla, Director General of ICA, and Er. Manoj Kumar Sharma, General Secretary of NEPCA focused on promoting international best practices and creating a more robust, predictable environment for commercial arbitration.
The event was brought to a close by Dr. Rajendra Prasad Adhikari, Chairperson of NEPCA, who underscored the long-term impact this collaboration. By bridging the expertise of both councils, we are paving the way for streamlined dispute resolution and a stronger professional network for arbitrators.
