Kathmandu, Nepal. With the aim of elevating Nepal’s digital infrastructure to a world-class standard and
strengthening the country’s data security, ‘Bichuten Data Vault’ (BDV) has announced the construction of
Nepal’s first Tier IV Hyper scale Data Center. This initiative aims to establish Nepal as one of South Asia’s most reliable digital hubs.

Led by Nepali entrepreneurs Naveen Agrawal, Min Agrawal (Fair Group), Anuj Keyal (Keyal Group), Vishal Kumar Jatia, and Sharad Goel, this homegrown company has pledged to build Nepal’s own Digital & AI Sovereignty and a secure digital future.

Key Features of the Project:

• International-Grade Standards: This will be Nepal’s first Tier IV certified data center, guaranteeing 99.995% uptime. This means less than 26 minutes of technical downtime per year, providing the highest level of reliability for sensitive sectors such as banking and telecommunications.

• Scale and Capacity: The project will be located at two strategic sites —Kathmandu (Site 1) and
Birgunj (Site 2). Starting with a capacity of 240 kilowatts, it is planned to expand up to 5 megawatts by 2030.

• Global Partnerships: For technology and expertise, the company has formed strategic partnerships with
globally renowned tech companies such as VVDN Technologies, Google Cloud, AMD, and Micron.

• Indigenous Technology and Employment: This infrastructure will create significant employment
opportunities in Nepal’s Information Technology (IT) and Engineering sectors. Additionally, the company
has a long-term vision of manufacturing devices such as servers, cameras, laptops, and tablets right
within Nepal.

• Digital Sovereignty and Security: With the belief that “data is the foundation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital transformation,” Bichuten Data Vault will ensure In-country Data Residency —keeping Nepal’s data secure within Nepal. This will reduce dependence on foreign servers and strengthen national security and cyber resilience.

• Environmentally Friendly Infrastructure: This data center will be energy-efficient and entirely powered
by Nepal’s hydroelectricity, promoting the use of sustainable and environmentally friendly technology.
