KATHMANDU, NEPAL . In a historic achievement for the Nepali spirits industry, The Himalayan Reserve has officially secured a Bronze Winner designation at the prestigious Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition (TWSC) 2026.
Following its remarkable success last year, when The Himalayan Reserve earned a Gold Award at the internationally acclaimed Monde Selection in Brussels, Belgium, the brand has once again brought international recognition to Nepal by winning Bronze at Tokyo Whisky and Spirit Competition (TWSC) 2026.
The TWSC is one of Asia’s largest and most rigorous spirits competitions, featuring a blind tasting panel comprised of Japan’s most discerning experts. Competing against legendary international distilleries, The Himalayan Reserve stood out for its exceptional quality and craftsmanship.
This international accolade marks a significant milestone for its parent company, Premier Distillery Limited, one of Nepal’s most modern and integrated liquor manufacturers. Widely recognized for its high standards and stringent quality control, Premier Distillery is also the house behind legendary domestic favorites like Old Monk 7 Year Old Rum, Old Monk Legend Rum, produced under a franchise agreement with Mohan Meakin Limited, and Black Stallion.
This accolade marks a significant milestone for Premier Distillery in Nepal, proving that Himalayan born spirits can compete and succeed on the global stage. For enthusiasts and whisky lovers across the country, this victory signals a “new dawn” for domestic production, elevating the reputation of Nepali spirits to international standards. This Bronze medal is not just a win for The Himalayan Reserve, but also a testament to the potential of Nepal’s unique terroir and blending expertise in the world of fine whisky.
