Kathmandu .Skoda India has once again reinforced its reputation for safety with its latest entry-level SUV, the Skoda Kylaq, earning a prestigious 5-star rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test. This makes the Kylaq the first Skoda vehicle to participate in Bharat NCAP testing, and the results highlight the brand’s commitment to providing top-notch safety to its customers.
The Kylaq achieved a score of 30.88 in Adult Occupant Protection and 45.00 in Child Occupant Protection, making it the safest vehicle in its segment. These results show that both adults and children are exceptionally well-protected in the car, setting a high benchmark for other vehicles in the same category. The SUV comes equipped with six airbags and more than 25 active and passive safety features as standard, even in the base variant, ensuring that safety is not compromised at any level.
For child occupant protection, the Kylaq performed remarkably well. It earned the maximum possible 16 points (100%) in the frontal offset barrier test and full 8 points (100%) in the side-moving deformable barrier test for children aged 1.5 and 3 years. The vehicle also scored full points in the recommended child seat assessment, while achieving an impressive 9 points out of 13 (69%) in the vehicle-based assessment. These results indicate that Skoda has placed special emphasis on the safety of young passengers, making the Kylaq an ideal choice for families.
The strong safety performance of the Kylaq continues Skoda’s legacy of safety excellence, following in the footsteps of the Skoda Kushaq and Slavia, which have both earned 5-star ratings in Global NCAP tests. Skoda’s focus on safety has always been a key part of its philosophy, and the Kylaq’s results reaffirm the brand’s dedication to building vehicles that protect all occupants in real-world driving conditions.
In addition to its safety features, the Kylaq combines comfort, style, and technology, making it a well-rounded option for Indian customers. Skoda has ensured that the SUV meets global safety standards while also offering practical features for everyday driving. The 5-star Bharat NCAP rating not only adds to the vehicle’s credibility but also provides peace of mind to buyers who prioritize the safety of themselves and their loved ones.
With the Kylaq, Skoda India has successfully set a new standard in the entry-level SUV segment. Its strong performance in crash tests, comprehensive safety features, and commitment to occupant protection highlight the brand’s ongoing efforts to deliver vehicles that are both reliable and secure.
