Kathmandu. Premier International IB Continuum School makes history by hosting Nepal’s first-ever Diplomathon World Symposium, a global debating and policymaking event where students stepped into the shoes of world leaders, diplomats, and changemakers. Over 150 students from more than 10 schools across and beyond the Kathmandu Valley came together for two exciting days of debate, dialogue, and discovery.
Premier’s campus buzzed with energy as six diverse committees came alive by tackling issues like climate change, global e-commerce, public health, future-ready education, and even football tourism. The atmosphere was electric, with students delivering speeches, raising motions, debating solutions, and solving surprise crisis scenarios.
The event ended on a high note for Premier, as its students swept the highest number of awards across all levels (Primary, Middle, and Senior High School) earning the coveted Overall Best Delegation Award.
Winning delegates from Premier included:
● Best Delegate (BD): Darshaneeka Neupane (PYP 5, SDG 13), Shyra Shrestha Bataajoo (PYP 5, SDG 3), Asos Puri (MYP 1, FIFA Committee), Ashraay Agrawal (MYP 4, Digital Trade & Cross Border Commerce Forum), and Ruchika Khadgi (IBDP 1, United Panel for Future Ready Education).
● High Commendation (HC): Anuj K. Ghimire (PYP 4, SDG 13), Prisha Karmacharya (PYP 5, SDG 3), and Hridhima Agrawal (IBDP 1, United Panel for Future Ready Education).
● Special Mention (SM): Shivaay Agrawal (PYP 4, SDG 3) and Aaron Shrestha (MYP 4, Digital Trade & Cross Border Commerce Forum).
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Academic Director Ms. Pravina Thapa shared her pride:
“Premierians have always believed in taking risks and being a pioneer for uplifting the quality of education in Nepal. Hosting the Diplomathon World Symposium is another milestone in that journey. These two days have proven that Nepal’s students can stand on equal ground with the world by discussing big issues, offering real solutions, and showing the confidence of global citizenship.”
What made this event truly distinctive was its two-phase global learning model. In the first phase, students participated in diplomacy and leadership workshops that connected them with peers from across the globe. These sessions allowed them to develop key diplomatic and leadership skills, thus, learning not only how to debate, but also how to listen, collaborate, and create solutions that work both locally and globally.
The second phase came to life in person at Premier International IB Continuum School, where delegates applied their learning during the Diplomathon World Symposium. Over two days of live debates, negotiations, and crisis simulations, students demonstrated how global perspectives can be translated into local action right here in Nepal. The journey, however, does not end here. The next phase of the competition is the Diplomathon World Symposium Global Round which will be held in Japan in early 2026, where Premierians will engage with top diplomats from around the world.
The success of Nepal’s first Diplomathon World Symposium shows how Premier is leading the way in education. As the country’s only IB Continuum School, Premier continues to prepare students to be confident, curious, and compassionate global leaders who are ready for the future.
