Kathmandu .Smart Choice Technologies Ltd. (SCT), a Payment System Operator (PSO) licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank, had their Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Manoj Ghimire, represent Nepal and the broader South Asia region at UnionPay International’s Regional Council Meeting. This prestigious forum brought together leaders from across the Asia-Pacific to discuss the future of digital payments and regional cooperation.
At the event, Mr. Ghimire strongly advocated for deeper intra-regional collaboration and greater interoperability, emphasizing the importance of building a more connected, secure, and inclusive payment ecosystem. He also joined a high-level panel discussion as a featured speaker, along with representatives from other Banks, Financial and Fintech Institutions such as the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, DBS Bank Limited, and Institute of International Finance, where he shared insights on emerging payment trends, partnership opportunities, and his outlook on payment development across the Asia-Pacific region.
In addition to this role, Mr. Ghimire continues to represent SCT on other influential platforms, including the PCI Security Standards Council (PCISSC) Regional Board and the SCT UnionPay Board. His active participation highlights SCT’s growing leadership in shaping the digital payment landscape and reinforces its commitment to driving innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth in Nepal and beyond.
