Kathmandu. The Industrial Enterprise Development Institute (IEDI), Government of Nepal, has selected ICT Foundation Nepal (IFN) to implement the Business Incubation Service (BIS) Operation and Management Program. Under this initiative, IFN will run the Digital and IT-enabled Startup Incubation Program to support more than 50 early-stage startups based in Kathmandu Valley (Bagmati Province) and Itahari (Koshi Province).
The program, which will run from March to June 2026, will be conducted in a hybrid model. Participating startups will receive one-to-one mentorship from experts, capacity building, business development and validation support, and investor readiness preparation.
According to the organizers, this incubation initiative aims to expand entrepreneurship development beyond Kathmandu. The program seeks to strengthen the regional innovation ecosystem by including entrepreneurs from historically underserved areas.
Selected startups will get direct access to industry experts, practical training, and networking opportunities. This is expected to help them refine their business models, strengthen their market presence, and prepare for investment.
Additionally, top-performing startups will receive seed investment support and gain access to national-level platforms such as ICT Award, Startup and Idea Fest, National Conclaves, and AI Conference.
ICT Foundation Nepal has previously contributed to promoting regional innovation through initiatives like Digital Karnali Conclave and Digital Madhesh Conclave.
Through this program, IFN aims to strengthen Nepal’s startup ecosystem, promote inclusive and regional entrepreneurship, support innovation-driven economic growth, and create pathways for startups to scale nationally and internationally.
