Kathmandu . MG Motor’s Cyber X is set to transform into a compact, boxy, and family-friendly electric SUV within the next two years. First showcased as a bold concept at the Shanghai Auto Show, the Cyber X combines angular styling, practicality, and a budget-friendly approach.
NOW AVAILABLE GLOBALLY
The production-ready Cyber X will feature a five-door layout and squared-off styling, with a stance reminiscent of premium SUVs like the Mercedes EQB. David Allison, MG’s UK product and planning boss, describes the vehicle as a “spiritual successor to the Suzuki Jimny,” offering compact dimensions suitable for urban driving while retaining subtle off-road-inspired styling.
CYBER X PRODUCT DETAILS
Premium Design, Inside and Out
The final model will retain the boxy aesthetic of the concept, with conventional headlights replacing the pop-up units and practical interiors replacing concept extras like the panoramic roof. The cabin is minimalistic and modern, featuring a large central touchscreen, a fully digital instrument cluster, and generous headroom and legroom for family use.
Battery and Performance
While specifications for Nepal are yet to be announced, the Cyber X is expected to use MG’s latest battery and motor technologies, including semi-solid-state batteries. Predicted range is around 300 miles, depending on battery choice and driving conditions. Most versions will feature a single-motor front-wheel-drive layout, while higher-spec models may include all-wheel drive. The raised ride height and subtle off-road elements balance practicality and style.
Affordability
MG aims to position the Cyber X as an affordable EV option, with prices predicted to start below £30,000 globally. The vehicle targets buyers looking for a compact SUV with modern EV technology and practical urban usability.
