Kathmandu: KIST Teaching Hospital has announced that it is providing accessible, high-quality, and specialized healthcare services to members of Nepal’s Social Security Fund (SSF) and Employees Provident Fund (EPF), aiming to make quality medical treatment more affordable and accessible.

According to the hospital, individuals enrolled in the Social Security Fund or Employees Provident Fund can fully utilize their healthcare benefits while receiving treatment at KIST Teaching Hospital.

Under the SSF scheme, members receiving outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (IPD) services are required to pay only 20 percent of the treatment cost, while the remaining 80 percent is covered by the Social Security Fund.

Similarly, under the EPF Health Plan, members hospitalized for treatment are eligible for reimbursement of up to NPR 100,000 annually for general illnesses and up to NPR 1 million throughout the service period for critical illnesses, in accordance with the applicable guidelines.

The hospital stated that the process of accessing these benefits is simple. Patients need only register their SSF card or EPF membership number at the hospital’s dedicated SSF/EPF Help Desk, after which they can complete the required formalities and receive treatment without unnecessary hassle.

KIST Teaching Hospital offers a wide range of specialized medical services under both schemes, including internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics, cardiology, nephrology, ophthalmology, and other specialty care.

The hospital also highlighted that it became the first hospital in Nepal to successfully provide kidney transplant services under the Social Security Fund, describing the milestone as a significant step toward making advanced and life-saving healthcare accessible through the national social security system. It expressed gratitude to the Government of Nepal and the Social Security Fund for their vision in extending coverage to complex medical procedures.

Backed by an experienced team of specialists, advanced medical technology, and its status as an NABH-accredited medical college, KIST Teaching Hospital reaffirmed its commitment to delivering reliable, affordable, and high-quality healthcare services. The hospital also encouraged eligible SSF and EPF members to make full use of the healthcare benefits they have earned.
