Kathmandu.Ncell Business, the enterprise solutions arm of Ncell, has announced that it has been awarded the ‘ANSI/TIA-942-C Rated 3 (Tier III) Design & Constructed Facility Certification’ for its state-of-the-art data centre, known as Integrated Data Centre (IDC), in Nakkhu, Lalitpur.
This internationally recognised certification further highlights the Ncell Data Centre’s high standards of reliability, security, and quality. The facility is also the Nepal’s first government-certified data centre and cloud service provider.
This certification confirms that the design of Ncell Data Centre meets Tier Rating III standards, ensuring concurrently maintainable infrastructure with the high availability, redundancy, and resilience required to support mission-critical operations. Designed for maximum uptime, the facility can continue operating without interruption during planned maintenance or unexpected events, delivering approximately 99.982% availability through fully redundant power, cooling, and network systems.
The assessment was carried out by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) – authorised audit and certification institute—Data Center Media LLP.
“This certification is a proud milestone for Ncell and for Nepal, as our data cetnre is the first in the country to receive this globally recognised TIA certification for design and constructed facility,” said Michael Foley, Chief Executive Officer of Ncell. “We are committed to providing world-class digital infrastructure that gives local businesses the confidence to grow while also contributing to the government’s digital transformation aspirations. The Ncell Data Centre also aligns with international best practices for information security and privacy through the ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 frameworks, enabling robust governance, data protection, and risk management processes. The company has also obtained the prestigious ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, highlighting the company’s dedication to delivering consistent, high-quality services while minimizing its environmental impact.

It helps minimise downtime for critical systems such as banking transactions, enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms, and online services, while also simplifying audits and compliance requirements.
The Rated 3 design enhances business continuity and disaster recovery through built-in redundancy, robust backup systems, and minimal disruption during maintenance or unforeseen events, enabling organisations to maintain operations even during outages, cyber incidents, or natural disasters. This certification also supports Nepal’s broader digital transformation by enabling secure local hosting of critical data, strengthening data sovereignty, reducing reliance on foreign infrastructure, and advancing the country’s position as an emerging digital hub.”
